Deadlines
We are currently only accepting applications for the Winter 2026 and Spring 2026 terms. Please note that only a few number programs offer admission for Winter or Spring.
The Fall 2026 application will open on September 1, 2025.
UC Riverside operates in a quarter system. Each quarter typically begins:
- Summer: mid-June
- Fall: late September
- Winter: early January
- Spring: late March/early April
Most programs only admit and begin in the Fall quarter. We encourage you to visit our Graduate Programs page for more information.
New Applicants and Reapplicants
If you are applying for the first time or reapplying due to not being admitted, admitted but unable to attend, or admitted and unable to complete your entire first quarter, you will need to complete our standard application.
*Fellowship Consideration: Applications received after January 5th will be considered for financial support based on funding availability and if the degree objective selected is eligible for fellowship funding. Please consult with the graduate program prior to applying. Some programs may have earlier priority/fellowship consideration deadlines, and earlier deadline dates than our standard posted deadlines, above. Consult your program directly to confirm.
**A few programs have an application deadline after June 1. Consult with the individual graduate program for clarification.
Returning and Continuing Students
If you have registered and completed one quarter of attendance at UCR (whether you completed a graduate program or not), the below deadlines will apply to you.
